Alchemy Factory is a medieval automation sim by D5 Copperhead, published by Gamirror Games on Steam. You start with a single shop and grow it into a multi-floor alchemy empire: conveyor belts and pipes connect magical devices into automated production lines, and the output — potions, jewelry, relics and (since 1.0) drinks — fills your shelves for customers and commissions.
Version 1.0 released September 7, 2026. The full release added the Wagon Logistics System, the Grand Portal, the rebuilt Shop Recognition system and a full shopkeeping rework, plus a long list of fixes tracked on the updates page.
The core loop
The game loops four systems around each other:
- Produce — grind, extract, distill, smelt and process materials into goods.
- Automate — link devices with belts and pipes; balance inputs and outputs to remove bottlenecks.
- Sell — stock shelves with potions, jewelry and relics; cash out automatically with the Automatic Cashier.
- Expand — spend coins on land, research and upgrades — see the research tree.
What's new in 1.0
The five headline systems of the 1.0 release — each with its own page:
- Wagon Logistics System — rail transport with higher capacity than conveyor belts.
- Grand Portal — customers from distant cities visit your shop through a portal.
- Shop Recognition — the reputation system rebuilt as shop recognitions.
- Brew Barrel & beverages — a new shelf category with drink production.
- Arcane Fountain — a throwing device that auto-searches targets.
Unlocking also changed at launch: non-production devices moved out of the Tech Tree — see Where is the Workbench?.
